uvula swelling?

My uvula swells and I get bumps on back of throat and redness. What can cause this? I am afraid one day I won't be able to breathe.  I take Benadryl or diphehydramine when mine swells because that is what the ER pumped through me when my uvula swelled the first time. I am still having it swell 5 times in 3 years. This last time was not a allergic reaction to meds.

Am looking for a ENT in my area to see if it is related to MRSA in the nares or from allergic reaction. This has only happened five times over last three years. I have been on a lot of antibiotics and meds that seem to have caused this reaction, but only after being diagnosed with MRSA.

Hi,
How are you? What other symptoms are present? Uvulitis or inflammation of the uvula,is usually associated with inflammation of other mouth parts, such as the palate, tonsils, or throat. It could also be due to infection or  allergic reaction. Treatment varies depending on the source of the inflammation.
The uvula may need to be surgically removed if repeated inflammation and enlargement occurs over time. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor or ENT for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
