Blood in Throat upon Waking

Hello everybody. I am 21 years old, I'm not on any medication, and as far as I can tell I am healthy. However this morning something happened that scares me.

I woke up halfway this morning and I was drooling. Not uncommon, I've done that before sleeping on my side with my dumb mouth open. But I noticed that I could taste blood so I went to brush my teeth and wash my mouth. When I was done I noticed there was blood on my pillow where I'd been drooling. There was also another smaller blood spot on my pillow that's been there for a couple weeks at least, but I thought it had come from a broken scab on my arm or something, until now.

I took a nap later in the day, and when I woke up I could taste blood again, but I wasn't laying down as long so there wasn't any to be found.

I think I can feel something in the back of my throat or tongue, but I'm not sure.

Hi,

I am 45 years old. A few days earlier I had an accident and got hurt on my head. I had a CT scan and MRI and everything was normal. But now I am getting blood everyday in my my mucus while spitting, esp in mornings. It seems to be from nose, there was a little blood in my nostrils too some days back. I can even feel something at the back of my throat. I am really worried about this.

Have you had a recent sinus infection? Either way, you definitely need to go see a doctor. An ear/nose/throat doctor is probably your best bet. Could be a number of things, ranging but as small as a broken blood vessel from coughing, to something bigger like cancer or parasitic or tb. Your super young so I wouldn't worry about it, but go have it checked out to be safe.
