Coating on tongue - Geographic tongue??

I experienced about a week of bad breath and bad taste, followed by another week of a brown and white film on my tongue, especially towards the back.  I have been treated for acid reflux disease and thrush, but neither medications have worked to remove the coating.  Currently, it looks to be almost a "fuzzy" white coating with small fissures and cracks appearing when I bend my tongue.  Yesterday, a doctor said that it was likely geographic tongue, but I when I stop the medication for thrush, my tongue begins to swell and feel awful.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Mine is a fungal infection caused by the cephalexin and I still have a bacterial infection in my toes (which is why I was on ceph to begin with.) Anyway, I am now on Levaquin and a "Magic Mouthwash" of Benadryl, Malox, and Nystatin...mixed 1:1:1.  (equal parts.)

I am going through almost the same thing. cracks and all.  Mine swells to the point I can barely swallow and it's hard to breathe.  Even the lymph nodes in my neck are huge.  I'd like to know what you find out!  I am seeing my primary care doc tomorrow (Monday).
