I hear my heart throbbing in left ear, possibly Pulsatile Tinnitus?

About a year and half ago I began to hear a slight throbbing in my left ear. Since then, it has become worse. Could be Pulsatile Tinnitus. I can press under left ear on artery and the sound stops, at least so I can hear tv. If I press on right artery it quickens the heart throbbing sound on left ear. I told my Dr. He looked in left ear and saw nothing wrong. A year ago I had a scan performed and it appeared normal. I do take Atorvestatin for High Blood Pressure and my BP has been controlled. Advice please...
