Dizziness

Hi,

I began experiencing very sudden dizziness and fatigue whilst smoking a couple of months ago.
I've been a smoker on and off, but pretty much on for the last 5 years or so. Because the lightheadedness and dizziness was so bad, I've stoped smoking alltogehter. It's two months later now and i seem to be getting more and more tired, especially towards the evenings. The dizziness also still comes and goes and comes on heavily if I'm in a smoky environment. Alongside this, I've been getting prickly pains all over my body. My doctor tells me this is stress as blood tests and pressure are normal, but I'm 21 at university and live a pretty relaxed lifestyle. I've been drinking plenty of fluids / taking vitamins / doing a fair amount of walking for excercise and eating about 3 of my 5 a day fruit and veg, but I can't seem to shake this dizziness and increasing weakness!!

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. It just seems like when it feels I'm getting better - I start to get worse.

Many thanks

Tim

if fatigue is so bothersome, ask your doctor to check for infectious mononucleosis ('kissing disease') caused by the epstein-barr virus

i'd avoid alcohol if i were you

Hey thanks for the advice,

I've been trying to do more exercise but the more I do, the more tired my muscles get and like 6 hours after being awake - i feel like going back to sleep. I've got nothing to be depressed about apart from the fact that Im feeling weak all the time. Its weird. Could it be a chronic virus or something? The only thing that i can think of is that my right tonsil has been inflamed for about 5 moinths or more, but it doesnt hurt at all really. I do get a clicking feeling in the left side of my throat which is causing pain sometimes, but I've seen the doctor about it and he's not concerned.

Any more ideas? As i said, the only thing making me feel rubbish mentaly is the fact that im unable to do things i normally do - like skateboarding / mountainboarding and football because it makes my muscles hurt 5 minutes in. It seems to be worse if I drink alcohol and takes a couple of days to get over that.

Tim, it's great that you stopped smoking

try more sleep, more rest, more exercise

if that doesn't improve it,  ask your doctor to consider antidepressants
