Ear, Nose and Throat

II had my ears cleaned from excessive wax, now I have a noise like someone shaking a instrument with bells on it in my ears, I hear it when it is quiet, what is this? Is it permanent ? I have a cold right now, that was very bad, and am on antibotics, my hearing is fine. Please help, I hope my eardrums were not damaged

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Perception of abnormal ear or head noises is termed as TINNITUS. Persistent tinnitus usually indicates the presence of sensory hearing loss. Intermittent periods of mild, high-pitched tinnitus lasting for several minutes are common in normal hearing persons. Since your problem has been of a recent origin associated with cold, it may be a temporary phenomenon.

it sounds like you have tinnitus. I suffer from it and have done for years.
