Flaky, itchy, painful ear. Possible infection? Please help!

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by to read my medical query.

I have flaky itchy skin all over my body (possible eczema or psoriasis - undiagnosed). One place i get this is, on, and slightly in, my ears.

I was foolishly picking at my ear skin last week as normal (I should I shouldn't be) and on Saturday morning I woke up with what felt like I'd been punched in the side of the head. The exterior of my ear feels sore and bruised and painful even to the touch. Inside the ear canal feels achey and uncomfortable with the occasional 'cotton wool' sounding muffles in my ear. It's also still very itchy and I'm trying my best not to scratch, but I just caved in a moment ago and pulled out some dark green/almost black ear wax!

On the advice of a medically professional family member I was waiting it out to see if it got worse/didn't go away before I visited my GP, she assumed it could be an ear infection. Does anyone have any advice for me, has anyone suffered from the same symptoms, or does anyone have an incling what it could be?

(Quick note - I have hypermobility (or ehlers danlos syndrome) and this morning I woke up with a dead hand, numb, tingly. I assumed this would dissapear after 20 mins but twelve hours later it's still present. Could this be related to my ear at all? My ear is the right one, but my hand is the left.)

So sorry this is long,
But thank you for reading!
Thankyou in Advance

Emily
