Halitosis

Nearly three weeks ago, I had surgery under general anesthesia, with a breathing tube.  My throat was raw and sore for a few days, then back to normal.  Recovery overall has been excellent.  Yesterday, I had a sour taste at the back of my mouth, sort of metallic and I noticed that my breath was smells like very sour, like musty wet wool when I exhale normally from my nose.  Mouthwash doesn't help because it's nasal. No other symptoms at all, except perhaps mild diarrhea.  It is very strong and like no bad breath I've ever experienced.  I don't want to be around anybody.  Could this be the result of having been entubated during surgery? Any info or suggestions appreciated.

Things are better. The salt water did the trick. Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

The intubation could have resulted in a throat and mouth infection and hence the consequent halitosis. You need to consult  a doctor for proper assessment. In the meantime you can try warm salt water gargles and betadine mouthwashes.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
