Needle Sensation in Left Ear

I am a 53 years old female. I am having an  on and off needle sensation in my left ear since 5/26/2016.
I have seen doctors multiple times.

The first doctor prescribed me Motrin 600mg for inflammation, no infection.
After taking Motrin for some days, the on and off needles sensation still occurs once in a while.
The second doctor told me that the sharp edge of earwax could cause the pain and inflammation.
So he ordered an ear irrigation. After the irrigation, he said that no more inflammation.
But I still have the needle sensation.

Does anyone have any needle sensation in ear? Please let me know what the problem is as soon as possible.
Thanks
