Please help to get my voice back to normal!

Hi there,

I am an old face on this forum :(  have a Chricopharengeal muscle dysfunction and there isn't really a cure for it and I have learned to live with it.

My problem today:  I had a common cold with sinus last week and got medication from the Chemist:  day and night Cordoral to clear it.  But my voice went all funny on Monday night and now I still don't have my voice back!  I have done the egg-flip and throat lollies and almost finished with the Cordoral's!

Now what?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, good advice and hope you are feeling better now. Along with consulting a medical professional you have to ensure to see you complete the course of antibiotics prescribed or the infecting organisms can develop resistance to the antibiotics. And try to take good diet depending on your appetite and taste try to take warm oral fluids like milk and soups and soft solid diet and plenty of rest. Do steam inhalations it will help clear secretions faster. So, take care and hope you get well soon. Regards.

I learned today that it is not always good to ignore symptoms and self-medicate when you actually have Pneumonia you should see a Doctor - not a self-appointed one like I am, a real Medical Professional!

So after I noticed blood in my phlegm I paid a visit to the ER Doc this morning and I have Pneumonia and that is why my voice is gone.  Short stay for nebulize and saline and a box of Antibiotics and an inhaler and I'll be fine :)

My advice:  don't always self-medicate or even post questions on a Medical board.  Seek Medical advice when your body tells you that you are not okay.
