Positive for strep

I went to see my ENT on Monday cause I was feeling pretty crappy and he was supposed to be looking at my ear, but my throat was bothering me so I thought I would toss that in the mix too. Well he canceled so I had to go back today. That jerk canceled again on me today after I waited in the lobby for an hour. I stormed out of that place and went to the nearest urgent care. He did a strep test and it was positive. I used to get strep all of the time when I was a kid but this is the first I have got since I was like 10. It has been pretty mild , but I cannot sleep because my heart is palpitating really bad. I do have heart palpitation anyways, but they have been really bad today. Is this a reason to call the urgent care back?

Only you can be the judge if this is related to anxiety, which I don't know if it is an issue with you.  I would following up with someone about this.  Next time, just go back to the urgent care vs. phoning.  I would have NEVER told someone on the phone without seeing them first to "not worry" about it.  I have been a nurse for 12 years.

I called them back and the Urgent Care nurse said that if I am already prone to Palpitations than I might just be having anxiety issues. She not to worry about it unless I was having chest pains.

If you are having heart palpitations, please reconsult the Urgent Care or go to the ER and get reassessed.
