Hello. I just came from a specialist ENT doctor for my hearing issue. I did a very quick and not too thorough hearing test in a soundproof booth. My hearing was in normal range but I swear something is wrong. It's been happening for years but is getting worse. I have trouble understanding some words people say, especially with background noise. Even if the background noise is quiet it can happen. I hear the sound coming from their mouth but I cant understand the word. It's almost like gibberish. I've had to start watching movies with subtitles. Could it be auditory neuropathy or speech discrimination? The hearing test did not involve any kind background noise it was a test in only perfect conditions.
