Straining voice when talking and hard to annunciate words at times starting with a, e, i, o, u

I am desperate an seeking help - I've seen several doctors with no current diagnosis and was told by the last that I should probably see a speech therapist.  I've been dealing with this problem for about 7 years but it has gotten worse over the last 2 years, it has greatly affected my ability to answer the phone and talk at work, once I get the words out I'm ok but my voice sounds like I'm straining and out of breath.  And I'm always asked "are you ok", "do you have a cold" or "we're breaking up" because they think there's a problem on the line.  I have the most difficulty annunciating my vowels, it takes a lot from me physically.  I just rently had a scope down by my ENT and all is well and my vocal cords look great, he believes that due to stress (work) that I trained myself to talk this way. I have decreased my stress level significantly but the problem still remains.  I have several upcoming speaking engagements and I fear that I won't be able to do them successfully, any directive you can provide is greatly appreciated - I want my voice to be restored.

This is just a guess:

http://www.voicemedicine.com/tremor.htm

I wish you luck.

My mother has an essential tremor, and inittially took botox injections, but eventually they opted for medications. It does help her. You need to find a speech therapist, but one that works with physicians....   because if the therapists only believes in "therapy" then that will be the only route discussed, and this may be "medically" resolved through the use of medicine.

again, good luck
