It sounds more like allergies than a cold to be going on for so long.

Have you been formally tested by an allergist using skin testing?  Have you been evaluated for acid reflux?  Acid reflux can also cause your continuing symptoms.

I would recommend that you start doing sinus rinses and see a dr about prescribing a steroid nasal spray and other treatment options for allergies or acid reflux.

Hi Anupam,

Long lasting cold and cough are due to allergy. Nasal allergy can lead to sinusitis followed by the post nasal drip leading to cough. I would encourage you refrain from the things which induces allergic reaction in you. Try Antihistaminics (such as Fexofenadine), nasal steroids and drink plenty of warm water. The sore throat (pharyngitis) rather than tonsillitis is probably because of the allergy itself. Please note there is no cure for allergy, prevention is the best treatment. You must be working in the Air conditioned room I suppose, if so, that is another common cause for your allergic problems. Any more doubts you are welcome.
