Un-diagnosed Throat Symptoms

About a year ago I got a sore throat out of nowhere and about 3 hours later I started feeling sick so I went to sleep. When my mother woke me up about 5 hours later I was extremely sore, could barely move, I was really weak, throat hurt to the point I couldn't swallow without tears instantly  coming to my eye and I was running a fever. My mother took me to the doctors the next day and the doctor said my throat was almost closed off. My throat was really, really red and I believe there were white patched in the back of my throat too. He checked for strep throat but it came back negative. He said I had a full body infection and he gave me antibiotics and about a week later it was gone. I came back about two months later with the same thing but not as bad as before but he was surprised I had it again so he checked for two types of mono and strep throat again but they came back negative. I did a urine test and a blood test and he said it wasn't infection either. It wasn't contagious either as I was the only one in my house who got it. I haven't gotten it in over a year but it still bothers me we couldn't figure out what it was. Do you have any ideas of what this could have been? Thank you.

Hello,
A sore throat can be caused by infection, viruses, bacteria, allergies, irritation, and reflux. The common causes of recurrence are living in an environment that is contaminated by the bacteria, not completing antibiotic course treatment, and having a weak immune system. Infection may persist if the bacteria are still present in the household. A complete evaluation is necessary for accurate diagnosis. Visit an ENT specialist for more queries and concerns.
Best wishes and regards!
