Ear wax is not a reason for causing dizziness but looking into the ear when someone complains of dizziness is quite normal. Ear infections that can sometimes be evident in the outer ear can cause dizziness. Pain or irritation in one or both ears; swelling, redness, discharging mucus, scaling, and crusting can be seen by looking into the ear canal and are all signs of infection. Fever also accompanied with any of these is a definite sign. The ears keep our balance and when they are hindered so is our balance(dizziness). There are many ear(inner, outer), eye problems that could cause this I believe your doctor is heading in the right direction. If he does find an infection he will likely follow-up with antibiotics, follow his direction and take acidophilus(natural food store) or yogurt containing bacterial culture as one of its main ingredients to restore good bacteria. This will prevent constipation associated with most individuals that have to take any form of antibiotics. Take care, hope this helps, follow-up with post if other diagnosis is found.
