ear noise

hi, as I said in last question that I have an avm in my brain  and I get migraines and for migraines my doctor gave me Topamax 12.5 mg. I am taking that since last august (2012). and since then I have this problem, I hear this drumming sound in my left ear. first I didn't really care, but then it started bothering me too much, its really hard to sleep at night , my started hurting and I can actually feel it on my left side, I told my family doctor, but she said I should talk to my neurologist. my neuro said its nothing. so both of my docs didn't do anything. and now since last week I started getting really dizzy(I see doubles, when I get dizzy) I went to see my neuro and she said I have vertigo, and she gave me medicine for that. but I heard that vertigo is caused by ear infection too, but my docs didn't do anything for my ear ,and its my only left ear. so if you have any suggestions for me please. or any natural remedy for ear buzzing or whatever its called, I will be really thankful.........    thank you

Hi, thank you .I told my doctor the same thing too,  she is my neurologist, when she gave me the medicine for the dizziness , I asked her if I should be treated for my ear too, she said no. So I  think I should change my neurologist, but even my family doctor didn't do anything. Sometimes I think that doctors don't really  care about their patients these days, they just see them because they get paid from the govt. every time they see us. I am sorry I didn't  mean that all the docs are like that, but so far I didn't get a good treatment. I got treated for headaches when they got worse , and then , they started doing all tests on me like MRI'S, CT SCAN'S, and so many other tests. well just wanted to say thank you once again, at least I know now that I was thinking right, that I should be treated  or at least checked properly for my ear. Thanks a lot.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, the condition needs proper evaluation. The cause could be an inner ear problem with your symptoms of tinnitus and dizziness. It could also be due to a middle ear infection. If your dizziness feels like you are spinning or the room is spinning (and especially if associated with nausea or vomiting), this might be due to an inner ear problem.  I would recommend that you consult an ENT specialist for further evaluation and treatment.  I would strongly caution you not to drive or operate heavy machinery while dizzy as you might injure yourself or others. Regards.
