Do you get bumps and areas on the scalp that itch and turn into lesions and almost scabby or scaly spots on the edges and back of your ear/ears and on your scalp after they ooze from being scratched open? If so, check out sebhorrheic dermatitis and psoriasis. It can be linked to allergic rhinitis-aka hay fever, and allergies or autoimmune responses. Sinus allergies also cause neck muscle tension and pain that spreads to the scalp, causes lymph nodes to swell and put pressure on nerves that cause ear and jaw pain. Allergies can trigger pain in the face, ear, neck, head/scalp and jaw/tmjd, as well as put pressure on the perotid glands and salivary glands. I've had some triggered by using prednisone to help treat sinus and lung infections. When I stopped taking it, it became worse and triggered a reaction all over my body that lasted for months and scarred me from the neck down. It was a response from having my immune system suppressed and then going back to function and triggered a reaction. At least that is what we think. I don't take steroids anymore when I get infections or anything that would require them intravenously or orally, which is much worse. Also if you get bumps that itch and hurt really bad on your scalp and/or neck, go to the doc, as it could be shingles and you'd know it because it hurts like fire.
Hi Kenny, did you ever figure out what was wrong here, i Get a sensitive left side of scalp then a blister that comes up either on the inside of my ear or around the outside, sometimes it leaks fluid... be great to know if you know the answer here. Thanks Justy
did you figure this out? I have exact same symptoms. I wondered if the swollen gland was just irritating a nerve that affected the ear, throat and spot on scalp.
Did you ever get a diagnosis or resolve this issue? I have the same type problem: right side swollen gland, occasional pains in right ear, and small area of scalp that is sensative to touch on top right side. So far, it does not seem serious, but I am concerned because it is different from anything experienced before. Thanks.
I have the same exact symptoms WITH a headache, but now I also have a sore inside my outer ear that looks a little like a fever blister—which I've never had before.
What did you do about this? I'm having the same symptoms - ear ache, sore throat, sore scalp. My symptoms have all appeared pretty rapidly. I noticed my ear started hurting yesterday afternoon. Today, I noticed my throat hurt and my scalp has become increasingly sensitive to touch. Did you see a doctor? Did you take anything or do anything to relieve your symptoms?
Thanks!
