feeling like something stuck in throat

I have this problem for the last 7 months and I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I have the feeling that something is stuck in my throat after I eat : just like the food would not go down. I have no problem with liquids, only solid food. I also have new adult onset asthma, the feeling that I have too much or not enough mucus in my throat and a tickle in the throat after I eat.
I have had :
-a barium swallow
-a modified barium swallow
-a laryngoscopy
-a manometry
-an endoscopy
-a chest x ray
-blood tests (anemia, thyroid )

all normal. the only thing that was not normal was a red throat on the laryngoscopy so the doctor put me on a double dose of prevacid. I am on it for 4 months now and I still have symptoms. I have seen a gastro, an ENT, a general doctor, a psychiatrist. I am on antidepressants and ativan in adition to the prevacid.

I just dont know what to do anymore!!!!!! I am now afraid to eat alone because I feel I am going to choke!

you may have LPR.  (Larynogpharyngeal Reflux Disease)  While it's absolutely silly to diagnose you over the internet (not to mention i'm not a doctor), i've gone through almost a year of Hell before it was finally diagnosed in me...and diagnosed BY ME.  the doctors could never figure it out for some reason.  anyway, common symptoms are: tightness in the throat, hoarseness, frequent throat clearing and coughing, Asthma-like symptoms, a feeling of swelling in the throat, and post nasal drip.  It's a type of reflux but it goes up to the back of your throat.  People don't experience heartburn with this.  The treatment includes things like Prilosec and/or Protonix, coupled with Zantac or the equivalent and a change in diet.  The process involved higher doses of meds than regular reflux (GERD) and there is a surgical option if you aren't getting much better in a year or so.  here's an article from Columbia University: www.entcolumbia.org/lprd.htm   - Bottom line, i'm not sure this is what you have but think about the symptoms and, if they fit, let your doctors know this possibility right away so you don't spend months bouncing around from doctor to doctor like I had to...good luck.

U ARE NOT GOING TO CHOKE.....get off those stupid antidepressants....when doctors dont know what to do , they give you pills to calm you down...theres nothing wrong with u mentally....i have the same feeling like im going to choke after i eat too...i just assume that its acid reflux because i did an endoscopy which showed some redness and stuff...although, reflux pills dont even help.....by the way....WHOA..look at the similarity in our name lol sorry, so ya, if u ever find out what u have, let me know because its extremely annoying
