Hello I need some advice??...my son is 6years old. Two weeks ago while he was eating cereal he ran to me saying he was chocking and couldnt breath but he was talking and walking just fine. We took him to the ER because he was complaining he had something stuck in his throat. The Dr checked him and said everything look good and he has nothing in his throat visually. I requested an X Ray and the Dr said it was not needed. I made a Follow up with his PCP but she as well said he has nothing and think is more mentally. The Dr. Order some X-rays but she said she doesn't think he needs it and stated its to much radiation for him. My son had never been a picky eater he loves food but now he doesn't want to eat solid food and when he does is only one bite and quickly drinks water saying the food is getting stuck in his throat. I'm really frustrated and don't know what to think or what to do any parents that had gone thru this please I ask for an advice??

Hi, usually when a foreign body like a fish bone gets stuck in throat, even after it is removed the sensation persists, it may not actually be there. If it still lodged, it can cause an infection and swelling and difficulty swallowing. But to be on the safe side, you can consult your doctor. The tearing and cough may not be related to this. Regards.
