motilium in managing reflux

I've been suffering GERD for many years now but this year,2011 about january I've noticed that I had difficulty speaking. I have to clear my throat whenever i speak and this i guess is to my disadvantage. you see am a college prof. I went to my ENT and she advised me to stop my omepron and take motilium 3x a day for 2 wks. I am now on my 20th day. I still have to finish all my med to find out if i'm out of GERD Is there anybody out there who have tried motilium for GERD?

The GI Specialist can assess you for Celiac disease as well.

my voice is ok in the morning but after about an hour of lecturing, my voice begins to trail off I've actually seen a throat specialist to see if there are nodules in my throat-thank God ther's none.I have read other comments here -and I agree that as if there's something in my throat that blocks and make swallowing  painful.I wonder when this will go away.

actually I've tried omeprazole, pervacid, losec, stayed away from spicy foods, colas, altho' I must admit I cant stay away from coffee -just a small amount at the tip of the spoon- in the morning. I was also wondering why the ENT prescribed motilium, the explanation is to manage my digestion so that the acid that will be produced in the stomach finds its way down.but i guess you are right I've to back to GI specialist.

Motilium for GERD?  Never heard or seen that ordered for any GERD.  Usually, that is ordered for normal gastric upset and n/v.

I wouldn't have an ENT Specialist handling your GERD but a GI Specialist.

The Prilosec was not helping at all?

Try stopping dairy and see if it clears up.  If that doesn't work, get tested for Celiac disease.
