mucas in throat

for almost one year i have had a contant feeling of a lump in the back of my throat, been to visit my doctor and have been prescribed penicillin (which didnt help), eythromycin (which i had to stop taking due to very bad abdominal pains and sickness) and a steroid nasal spray (which didnt  help).  every time i swallow it feels as if i am swallowing a golf ball and i am always having to clear my throat.  when i do clear my  throat the mucas has a slight yellow tinge to it and it is very thick and stringy.
please help this is really getting me down.

Sounds like a sinus infection.  You may need a more aggressive antibiotic regimen.
