ringing ears

For the past four months now i have been having extreme ringing of the ears and post nasal drainage. I have blokage of the nose and my doc has since put me on flixonaise spray. But they seem to be absolutely ineffective. I also have pressure in the ears and this irrtates me alot. Can anybody help please especially the ringing.

I have had very similar symptoms since March, 08. I have seem my MD and he prescribed antibiotics and steroids, no help there. ENT did audio check and prescribed antihistamines, still have the symptoms. All of my symptoms came up, literally over night. Saturday night, ok, Sunday morn, sharp stabbing pain in the ears down to the throat, congestion in the chest, stuffiness in both ears, sinus congestion, headache, the whole ball of wax. Started doing the nasal flush with saline, taken over the counter nasal de-congestants, and antihistamines. Still have the ringing in the ears/head, but the intensity has gone down somewhat, but still there. I also had a constant drainage in my throat. Still have drainage, not as persistant. My ears feel as though there is something in them, from time to time. They were and still do, from time to time feel like they do when I get a sore throat. I have started getting some relief, in the stuffiness and congestion department of the head and sinuses. All my life, when I started getting a sore throat my Mother, Grandmother, and Dad would have me to gargle my throat with hot salt water. Hot as I could stand it without burning my mouth and throat.  I have had some very good relief, though the ringing is still with me. I first take the antihistamine and the nasal de-congestant wait for about an hour, until they start working and then gargle with the hot salt and water. This has really helped. Mind you, that I have been a really healthy adult male for many years, rarely sick, thank the good LORD, headaches a rareity. My next endevour is to check the fillings in my teeth. I have resently read, in another medical blog, about others having problems and discoverd that their amalgam fillings in their teeth was causing problems with their autoimmune system, because of the "Mercury" in them. This may be why a lot of others like us are having problems. There are a rash of issues that have been linked to the "mercury" in ones fillings. Check out "mercurypoisoned.com". I guess I don't really have any answers, but myself, a lot of questions

I have the same symptoms.  Your Doctor should be able to give you an appropriate referrel.  Tinnitus is a rule out game.  I've had an MRI and CT scan that rule out the worse case scenario.  My Doctor detected something abnormal on the ear pressure test so he's sending me back to see the head Doctor at the ENT clinic.
