can anyone please help me? Could this be muscular?
Hi. I believe i have hyoid syndrome but didn't get in a fall or anything like that. I lifted heavy objects for months at my waitressing job? Could that have done this to me? Please help. thank you.
Hi there,
Hyoid syndrome is caused by calcification and inflammation of the attachment of the stylohyoid ligament to the hyoid bone. This painful syndrome is caused by trauma at the greater cornu of the hyoid bone with the pain radiating to other sites. Treatment for the condition ranges from a course of NSAID therapy as the first method of treatment to invasive procedures. Injections of local anesthetic or cortisone to resection of the greater cornu are the last resorts in cases of severe pain. For more queries and assistance visit your primary care physician. Hope it helps.
Best wishes and regards!
