sore throat

hi, 5 days ago i came down with a sore throat that turned into the flu the next day. my fever never went above 100 degrees and most symptoms are already gone. my throat has still been very sore and sinuses have been draining   down my throat but with the help of cough drops i haven't been coughing a whole bunch. today i noticed a bloody spot on the tissue where my tonsils used to be. it looks like a small open sore. should i be concerned about this and what can i do to help treat it?

thank you for your advice. Just to clear things up, i did not stick anything in my throat, the "tissue" im referring to is the flesh or skin of my throat. i only included this information because the "tissue" is different on the sides of my throat where my tonsils were once located compared to the "tissue" on the back of my throat.

We agree that the tonsils are located quite far in the back of your mouth?  Most people would go into fits of gagging if they stuck a tissue way back there.  Regardless, I would stand by my initial bit of advice.

no, the sore is located on the area where my tonsils used to be, there is still some tonsil tissue remaining on the sides of my throat. i dont know if it makes any difference that the sore is located there and not on the back of my throat?

Wait, you stuck a tissue into the back of your throat where your tonsils used to be?  That confuses me a little.  Viruses can cause little vesicles to form in the throat and these can become irritated and bleed.  If it's something benign like that, it should resolve within a few days without any intervention.
