Sore throat/cough

I have sore throat,fever at night of 101, around 99.2-100 in the day for the past 7 days.  Should i go to doctor or what?  also, green phlegm. Thanks

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Fever and cough with green sputum indicate an infection of the lower respiratory tract. You need antibiotics to tackle the infection. So, please consult your primary care physician at the earliest. In the meantime you could try warm salt water gargles, steam inhalation and take OTC Tylenol (acetaminophen) for the temperature.

Hi there,

Green phlegm indicated infection and that would explain fever and sore throat.  You may need antibiotics to get rid of it.

With a fever lasting more than a few days, along with your other symptoms, you should definitely get checked out by a doctor.  Hope this helps.
