When I have those days when everything is moving, I take 0.25 mg Xanax and it helps; slows down the vestibular system, thus decreasing the anxiety. Inner ear problems and anxiety can go hand in hand. It has been a ROUGH year, but I have an amazing hubby that helps me out.
i have to back to university in september and i have no idea how im going to cope. iv been prescribed betahistine by the doctor after prochloroperazine had no effect. iv been tryin to keep active. its the worst feeling ever when im in public and i feel unsteady and objects move and i try to act like everythings okay when im having a panic attack!! its so awful :( the waiting time until an appointment with an ENT is available is 'unknown' at all my nearby hospitals so im just taking it a day at a time. ive been quite okay today but im trying not get too happy about it because i know how the dizzyness can become VERY intense all of a sudden. Dont know how you've managed a year of it :(
Join the club. I have been battling Unresolved Labyrinthitis for about a year now; I would not wish this on my worse enemy. I was pretty much bedrest last winter and gained weight, which did not help matters.
Has your physician prescibed any medication for this? Betahistine, Antivert? I take Betahistine 3x/day and xanax AS needed; it helps. Sometimes, physicians will order a prednisone as well.
Keep as active as you can, because Labyrinthitis can become worse with inactivity.
