I have had a throat click at the level of the Adam's apple right below the jaw right side since December 2007. I have seen three ENT's, one medical professor of head and neck surgery and have had the following diagnostics:
MRI contrast-negative
CT contrast 1 mm slices-negative
Laryngoscopy three exams-normal
My medical history is as follows:
40 yr old female
Cervical/lumbar spinal stenosis-dx 8/07
Small hiatal hernia-no reflux
I am very frustrated lately about this because I am ok for a few days then it bothers me again. I have developed some additional symptoms as well within the past few months. Ok will be a day where my throat is clicking on and off and that's it. A bad day will be like the past few days. My throat is clicking a lot, occipital headache on affected side, pain deep in the neck/throat region where the clicking is, referred twinges of pain to my right ear, right jaw, and sometimes right rear molars, and pain behind the right eye. This pain makes me think of a nerve being affected by this and that it is all related to the throat/neck. (I am a veterinary technician of 20 years and have a medical background.) The last doc told me that he sees nothing at this point that would warrant surgical intervention. He did not see anything related from my cervical stenosis. Someone mentioned glosso pharyngeal neuralgia? Any ideas greatly appreciated. I am so tired of going to the doctor. This has brought me to tears several times especially when I am having a bad day like today. I just want a normal throat.
Sincerely,
Jill
