anorexic or not?

So I'm a 16 year old girl, about 5'5' and 110lbs. I'm on a calorie restricting diet and exercising a lot to lose weight. My family doesn't know and I can't talk to them about it due to circumstances i cannot discuss. My one friend who knows about this tells me I'm on the verge of anorexia and people at school are talking about me saying how skinny I'm getting. When people originally told me this I took it as a compliment, now I find it embarrassing.for most of the time I can't see how skinny I am. However every now and then I see it. I hate how skinny I look, it often makes me rrslly depressed. But at the same time I feel the need to lose more weight, I cant help it. Although at times I feel too skinny- I mostly see myself as overweight and having to lose more, if I don't I feel terrible with myself, I have to lose weight. I'm eating as little as 500 calories daily. I don't think this is anorexia but have been told otherwise, any opinions or advise? Much appreciated.

People keep telling me that I'm anorexic. I'm not. I am just underweight and have a small appetite. Anorexia is when a person starves themselves. I think you might be on the verge of anorexia. You should eat more calories and try to be fit instead of trying to be thin. Gain muscle and lose fat. Strength training will help, I think. But eat healthy and gain muscle. Gaining muscle and exercising regularly but not TOO much with help you become lean and healthy, so you can be happy. That way you can become lean and even LOOK and BE healthy.

For most of my life I have been considered skinny, buy I understand anorexia is different. The form of exercise I do is dance, do you know if that counts at all as strength training? Thanks a heap for this advise, I'll try to take it into account.

I'm recovering from anoereixa and I can tell you from experience that how little you're eating and the amount of excercise you're doing on top of that isn't healthy so you should talk to someone maybe your doctor? And ask him to check you out to see if you're okay. I hope it goes well xx
