relapse due to a single body change?

Has anyone ever stopped recovering or increasing their intake simply because they saw a difference in body shape (thigh gap closing, xyphoid less obvious, shoulders less sharp, etc.), and noticing that one thing triggered a panic or fear response that shifted their course into restriction and all the accompanying behaviors?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
Yes, individuals who suffer from eating disorders do tend to minutely observe their body. At any sign of perceived increase in body contour, size, shape etc, they tend to panic and stop eating or abuse drugs to lose weight. Some try and vomit what they eat.
is to seek professional help. These specialists will help you through behavior therapies, nutritional guidance, medications to control hunger, food satiety, and exercise and yoga. Join support groups to keep yourself motivated. Take up yoga for that will help you. Join any good center in your area. Please consult a good psychologist/psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders. Take care!

Thank you.
For the 1st time I was starting to see a speck of hope for my own recovery and no longer had it in me to do the painful labor of restricting, although I never did stop diet pills.
When I noticed my thighs were starting to close in, I instantly snapped back to my old behaviors.
I go to a monthly support group run by the acute facility I was in, but only did 3 days of IOP after IP.
I quit my ED therapist, who wasn't really helping,  quit my nutritionist, who was not trained in ED's, and now have only my psychiatrist, who was also not trained in ED's. I also stopped yoga.
I feel I need to exercise, but the dietician in IOP told me not to exercise at all. OK, will do what I can (with Medi-Cal).
Thanks again!
