How may try's with donor eggs?
How many tries with donor eggs has it taken for members who have successfully got pregnant? I am on my first cycle with donor eggs and am wondering what to expect and how much money to think about putting aside!! I want to stick the distance but also want to be prepared as much as I can for disappointments along the way. I am 40, have a lovely 7 year old daughter already and desperately trying for a brother or sister for her to complete our family. We will later consider adoption. There were 11 eggs from the donor 9 were good two were transfer and only 1 made it to the freezer. I am hoping this works but if it doesn't how long do I keep going. I have had two miscarriages when we trying naturally until we went to a private clinic and they said my eggs were of not so good quality any more.
Well as you know the hpt was a bfn.......arrggh.
I will take a break right now and let my body normalize. I still have three frozen so I will probably do one more cycle and transfer all three at that time. But for now I need a breather and let things settle and adjust once again before I start with the buildup and go through this waiting game again :)

I had only one to freeze

Nightmares are not nice and especially when you have experienced it in the past. Remember though that this pregnancy is not the same as the last one.
So you transferred two embies how lovely. Did you have any more to freeze? So with your beta numbers, (they were fairly high if I recall) there could be twins in there. How amazingly exciting.
How many weeks are you along. I don't think you have even had your first scan - right? Ahhhh yes, we get past the tww and then we are struck with more worries. Then we wait another few weeks for the scan and then we wait until the 12 week mark. This entire journey is fraught with worry isn't it.
But the pay off in the end is worth every little discomfort (physical and mental) that we inflict on ourselves.
AFM I am going to be doing a hpt test tomorrow at 10dpt. I will be away for the weekend and I just want to know before I do all kinds of traveling (air and car). My beta is next Tuesday and I just can't wait that long. Wish me luck.

Just waiting and waiting and more waiting now!! Been having terrible nightmares about miscarriage...after two mc last year I won't really be able to relax until I have pasted 12 wks atleast.The after that I will start worrying about stuff I guess,lol:)

WOW is right. That is a big number my first beta on my last pregnancy was 1100 and I had a singleton.....there may be a double reason to celebrate.
My clinic does the first beta on 14dpt and then we do another one 16dpt then we do a six week scan.

Whoa!!!! Did they mention maybe multiples??? That is a very strong #! :). Mine was 569 at 13 days past transfer, and I have twins. How many did you transfer?? This is sooo exciting!!!!!! Will they do another beta or just the u/s???? Congratulations!!!!
4517 hcg levels on day 15. very stressed wating for scans.

Well then if you got a BFP on 15dpt then I'm sure your beta numbers will be excellent. Good luck on that let me know what the numbers are.

Our situations are quite similar actually. My daughter was 6 1/2 when my son was born with DE. I had ttc for years to add to our family when I finally resorted to DE. So now my daughter is 9 and my son is 3.
I just had my transfer yesterday with 2 of my frozen embies, they both made it through the thaw so they transferred both. I still have three frosties (frozen embies) left. So your tww is over and mine is just beginning. When is your due date?

Hi Frances, wow did you do the DE transfer? How wonderful that you got a BFP....how many days post transfer did you test? Was your blood work your two week beta? I have so many questions but I am really happy for you. Right now you just need to relax and let the process unfold.
I'm not sure what you mean by problems but yes definitely you should be looking forward to this pregnancy embrace it enjoy it. It really will work out all right.

I had BFP from HPT on saturday anf having Blood Test this week. Terrified it will all go wrong, Not sure whether problems later are common or whether I should be lookinmg forward to pregnancy.

I have two children, one girl "naturally" and one boy with donor eggs. After all the years of ttc, then the countless IUI's the two failed IVF attemps we finally went with egg donation. We now have a beautiful son. We had a total of seven eggs that fertilized and we transferred two and one took (we froze the other 5). Currently we are starting another cycle and am hoping to transfer two more embies on Nov 5th so we can add to our family.
So it does happen, everyone is different. Sometimes it takes sometimes it doesn't. I transferred two but got one. Each situation and each person reacts differently. Good luck and please keep posting.

I have seen a lot of people get pregnant on their 1st transfer, often with twins :). Good luck!!! When is your blood test?? Sending baby dust your way!!!!
