Where are the mommies who have conceived through egg donation?

Just wanted to hear from women who have had live births through donor eggs. How long did it take? How was the process? What is your baby like?

Wow congrats to Kricket what an exciting time for  you.  I have a 9 yr old girl "naturally" and a 3 year old son with ED.  I am now just starting another cycle to have another transfer done with 2 frozen embies on Nov 5th.  I have been down the TTC the IUI the IVF....for about four years until having my son with ED so don't give up it is possible.

I am 9 weeks pregnant with  but they are identical (so the egg split!) and not fraternal.    My donor was 24.  We got 8 eggs- 4 fertilized- 3 made it to blasts and we transfered 2 and froze 1.

We have been trying to get going with a cycle for over a year.  All in all- I went through 4 donors!  The first one initially agreed and then she did not get back in touch with the clinic.  The second we got started and were on meds- but her body did not respond so the cycle failed- she had donated before with over 30 eggs.  Then we had selected another donor and her tests came back- she was positive for an STD- I actually felt bad for her because she was supposed to be in a committed relationship.

Mountains of baby dust to you all and I hope great things happen for you all!

Good luck with it all and I say don't give up yet!  I won't give up until the very last embryo if that's what it takes! My cousin who is 33 and already has a 6 year old and a 4 year old is my donor, I am very lucky!  I will keep in touch and feel free to email any time!
Take care!

Hi there,
thank you for sharing your experience. I did 2 IVF's last year with my own eggs and miscarried both times. Went on to DE and failed completely, you think that they are supposed to be miracle eggs. Anyway I am going on to another cycle in August, we have 7 frozen. I am 43. Looks like we are going down the same road. Please stay in touch. Best of luck to you too!! Also want to hear from Kriket212 about those twins when they are born.

Lots of luck to everyone, this is all encouraging.

Hi Redhead,

I have just had my first IVF with donor eggs,(4 left in the freezer), unfortunately I got my AF this morning which was disappointing...but not time for tears have rung my FN and will continue on to round 2.  I like Kricket had done IVF with my own eggs (6 rounds), then had a break for 4 years and back with DE.  I am 47 now.
Good luck to you if this is the road you are taking.

I am pregnant with TWINS. I am currently 5 months pregnant.  I did a 1:1 cycle transferred 2 AA Blasts & have 11 frozen.  This was my first try with DE.
I did do 4 of my own IVF's that were unsuccessful.

Sending you lots of luck.
