10 in the pain scale 5 days in a row...?!

I am very worried.  Since my laparoscopy in march I had just had my first larger scale pain/breakthrough bleeding episode about a month an a half ago, which lasted about four weeks, then after a period, I felt better for a couple weeks.  Five days ago I started having really extreme pain.  Like hitting a 10 every night.  It was really difficult because I was on vacation, but I came home early anyway.  I called my doctor since I was so alarmed, and she called me in a prescription for tylenol-codiene to take every six hours, and told me to take 3 200 mg ibuprofen every six hours.  This helped take some of the edge off, but I was still in a lot of pain!  I couldn't even believe how much it hurt.  I have been perfect with taking my bc on time so I know that that couldn't be messing me up, I am totally baffled... I'm calling the doctor again tomorrow to try to get in to see her this week, but I'm scared; what could they do for me at this point?! I'm really fed up.  My vacation was ruined, I haven't been able to have sex, I can't work, and I'm still stuck in bed :( what am I to do?!! :(

Weirdly, I've noticed that the pain is significantly worse at night (usually starts getting pretty bad in the late afternoon and continues to worsen throughout the night).  I don't know why that is... But the pain is also making my lower back really ache, and it also radiates down my inner thighs too.  It also hurts sometimes after I pee too.  And sex hadn't been hurting but the other day it was really hurting a lot...I don't really know what to think about this, but I just can't be stuck in bed day after day :(

If you do not get good answers contact the endo assoc to find an endo specialist near you for a second opinion. If you can travel I recommend Nahzat in New York. He is one of the tops.

I too have a lot of nausea with the pain and also have a lot more pain at night. I hope you don't have to have another surgery so soon but I'm sure you would do whatever it takes to get rid of the pain. Please let me know what the doctor says when you see him. I'm very curious.  Hope you are better today!!!!!!

what i love about this forum is that I'm never alone in any situation! lol. But yeah, I can't really do much of anything lately because I'm either in to much pain to function or I'm on narcotics to get rid of it... It's a lose-lose situation.  Yeah it's just bc right now, but I was instructed when I talked to a dr. (mine was not in this past weekend) on the phone, she said to take the ibuprofen and the codiene so I've just been doing that, the pain has been SO extreme lately, it's not usually this bad, this is actually the first time it has gotten to this point since the laparoscopy.  But yes, I get very nauseated from the pain, sometimes I can barely eat.  The dr. I had spoken to had said that I definately need to see my dr. ASAP to discuss what the problem could be, and debate how to treat it further.  They were closed today so I'm calling tomorrow to see when I can get in.  But I am also very curious, I can't imagine what else they could to help me at this point, I doubt they would do another surgery so soon.  But I will keep you posted on what she says.  And thats always good to get a second opinion, I did last year and it definately helped me. good luck!

I totally know your feeling! I had my lap in November. And I had an episode of bleeding and severe pain about a month a ago then a period felt better for about two weeks now the pain is severe again. Unfortunatly I cannot take off work. So I have to suffer through. My pain has started hurting into my back as well and down into my thighs. But I have also noticed it in my hips which I find odd. Are they just treating you with bc? Have you tried heat? I know that this helps me. I have read on here that others suggest ice but I find a heating pad has become my best friend! I take mine to work with me!!!!  Do you get nauseated with the pain at all? What did the dr say when you called last time? Im curious to see what the dr says when you go see them. Mine didn't seem to care and won't give me anything besides tramadol. So I'm going for a second opinion in two weeks! Please keep me updated as to what they say! Sending hugs your way!!!!
