Has anyone had an endometrioma 7.5 x 6 cm removed and not lost the ovary and went on to have children? Please respond
Ask your GYN about Lupron, It shuts your body down so you don't mensturate. I was put on it for 5 months and it shrunk things down quit a bit.
Can I still have children? I'm 40 years old with no children and hoping that I still have a chance. I had an abdominal myomectomy 3 years ago to remove fibroids and about 6 months later, I was doubled over in pain. Since 2009, I have been to the ER at least two times and many GYN visits. They say I have a 6cm cyst and possible endometriosis, which can be removed through laparoscopy, but I'm desperate to know if I can still have children. Has anyone had children post-op? I may have surgery soon, please help!
I had a cyst removed from my ovary just a month ago that had endometioma in it. They did not have to take the ovary, they did a lararoscopy and just removed the cyst. That was actually when I found out that I have endometriosis. Maybe you can ask your doctor about something like that?
They don't always take the ovary. I know, because I still have mine. I had endometriosis removed a year and a half ago. Talk to your doctor, about wanting to have children. Even if you have part of an ovary you can still produce eggs and have kids.
Maybe if they have to take the ovary they can harvest eggs so at least you have the option of IVF at a later date. Make sure you talk with your Dr about this so they can address your worries about having children.
Have they ever tried putting you on the birth control pill? Some ovarian cysts can be shrunk by using the pill, because the hormone levels are more evened out and the fluctuations aren't there. That may be something to try before you lose your ovary.
i think you should not go for the operation of remove your ovary. its not worth it. maybe you should try another ways that less suffering. and i know one way which you no need to go for the operation but still can save your ovary and conceive.
Well bless your heart. Are they suspecting Endometrioma again? I am not familiar with this, as the women on this forum, unfortunately have experienced Ovarian Cancer. I also assume that your pathology on your original cyst was nothing but endometrioma? which I assume yes, and that's is great, but I totally understand the nervousiness of this happening again. Speak to your doctor in depth and seek additional medical oppinions as well.
Good Luck.
