endo cyst and bowel op

hi, i have and endo cyst that is 17.2cm i have been told that i am going to need to see the bowel doc as i will need a stoma for 3 months min after the op i am very woried about all this

hiya ive had endo for 15 years so no what your going through.  am just waiting to go in on jan 09 to have every thing removed.  was told 98% all good nad 2% chance of stoma so not looking foward to that but at least the pain will stop . . was only told last year had stage 4 endo. . pain not too bad now as have changed my diet and go to the gym a lot more . . but still have to have op. . hope things go well for you keep posted:}

they will have to see how much they have to remove first but at this moment in time im in so much pain they could cut my leg off if it would get this lump out of me

Well i am sorry to hear what is going on with you,  You must be going through alot.  Are they thinking of doing a bowel resection?

hi, i have had every thing else out and i have had breast lumps got that BRAC2 thing so very limited in what i can try  they think that the endo has fixed the cyst to bowel

Have you gotten a second opinion?  Why the need for a stoma?  I was told I had a 10cm cyst but it ended up being my ovaries wrapped around my uterus.  They cant really tell until they go in.  have you ever been on the pill to try to shrink them before the surgery?  Please dont rush into something if you havent had a second opinion.
