Endometriosis surgery

I have severe endometriosis and had laproscopy done last week. My lap procedure was not successful and the doctor wants me to do another major surgery. However i have to wait for 90 day to do this surgery since there is some insurance rule for global 90 day waiting period for same diagnosis. I am new to United States and not aware of such rules .. Please advise if anyone is aware of such rules.

Thanks a lot for the inputs I will certainly try to meet the doctor. My doctor is Rakesh Mangal. He is suggesting me lupron prior to going for bowel surgery as he was not bake to clean up all endo during laproscopy. Is this common?

unfortunately if a Dr. wants to put you on lupron after surgery it means he's not sure he has gotten it all...so I would question his skill and ability to be considered a true specialist...Lupron is a chemical version of taking your female hormones which will not cure endo if it's left behind...if I lived in Houston area the surgeon I would go to hands down and the only true excision specialist I am aware of is:
Dr. John Dulemba
940-387-6248

He has done over 2,000 robotic excision surgeries and gets good feed back on skill and compassion...Definitely worth a second opinion! ;)

I had robotic done on my endo as well as the bowel resection...so if you are in that state...you definitely need a true specialist!

I agree don't do a hysterectomy you will regret it later and it really don't help me much either try the Lipton it wasn't all that bad

Thanks a lot for the reply and advise. I stay in Houston and have found an endometriosis specialist, he advised me to do bowel surgery after lap but he never suggested me to get rid of female hormones. However he wants me to go on 3 month lupron shots which I am not very sure about.

I am not aware of this...but the insurance companies or type of insurance all have many variables...
The next treatment should not be considered the same though regardless of your insurance plan because the laproscopy was to diagnose and the next surgery would be to treat the disease...so I think you may be getting a brush off on getting treatment you need.
This does give you opportunity though to find an endometriosis specialist so that you can get the proper care...I would strongly recommend that you do this and would gladly help you find the one closest to you if you let me know where you are located (city/state) If your Dr. says a hysterectomy and ovaries removed will cure you run in the other direction...it doesn't...I have deeply infiltrated endometriosis even though I have no female organs and because of them taking my female organs I now deal with pelvic organ prolapse issues...and have had multiple surgeries all because I got into the hands of a non-endometriosis specialist...just like we would not see our primary care dr for cancer we would see an oncologist we need to see an endometriosis specialist not our gynecologist to have a good outcome and the sooner the better! Good luck and do let us know how you are doing!
