First period post op

I had a laparoscopy at the end of January to remove a cyst from my right ovary.  The biopsy on the cyst showed that I have Endometriosis.  Now I am having my first period and I have had a lot of pain on that right side and I am not sure if that is normal.  I got my period last Thursday and it is slowing down now.  So then last night before I got in the shower I took out my tampon.  While I was in the shower I had this weird feeling almost like I was peeing but when I looked down the water was red.  I am not sure if this bleeding is from my period or what.  Has anyone had the pain and bleeding like this?  Is it something to worry about and call my nurse or am I just paranoid?  LOL

It is normal well at least it was for me.  After your surgery did they not put you on lupron or BCP?  I had my surgery 4yrs ago and was on lupron for 6 months (which I regret) but after that i have been on the pill ever since. I havent gotten a period in 4yrs and I dont get pain so its something to think about.

If they told you not to, why would you do it? you just had surgery and a lot of the tools go through the vagina. You could cause some problems by using but what problems i do not know possibly infection. I would remove it and call your doctor, as there are reasons why they tell you not to do certain things. Use a pad.

At 7:30 am I had a diagnostic endoscopy to see if my endometriosis could be removed.
When I got home at 1pm, I used my tampons and have been since.   Am I in danger?

I am on a generic form of ortho-tricycline.  I have been on that since last June or so to help stop cysts.  That clearly is not helping though since I just had one removed in January and I now have 2 more on my left ovary now.  Sorry, I missed the "BCP" in your reply and did not know what lupron was!  lol  They are thinking that if the bleeding doesn't slow down they will have to change the form of BC I am on.

I would think of going on the pill continuously or they will just continue to grow.  I am really surprised that they never told you this.  Its not going to go away on its own unfortunately

Keep me updated.

They did not put me on anything after my surgery other than pain meds.  I actually ended up calling the nurse and they did an u/s to check on the bleeding.  I found out I have 2 cysts on my left ovary, something on my right (they aren't sure if it's scaring or endometriosis again), my uterine lining is on the thick side and I have a lump on my uterine wall.  So now I have to go back April 1st to have another u/s procedure done so they can try and figure out what the lump is and if it needs to be removed or not.
