One suggestion re birth control pills - you can try taking them continuously (don't take the week off, just start the next month). You can do this for at least three months in a row if not more (ask dr.). While initially you may have a bit of spotting, I find that my pain is much less when I'm not getting my period regularly. Just a thought.
You need to find an endo specialist. You can do so by contacting the endometriosis association to find one near you:

As far as cysts here is some good info about them:

I hope this helps,

I stopped the BC pills becasue after a few months they weren't helping. My periods stayed at 7 days, and the cramping eased up but then came back with a vengence. Thats when I finally said screw it, they aren't helping. I figured it was normal and I was just being a baby about the cramping till that cyst thing. I dunno. I mean the cramping is bad and normally on the left side. my periods are heavy and just drain the life out of me completly. My poor husband tries so hard to do something to help but I end up just crying.
I know you were trying to shorten your story greatly, but there are many questions that go unanswered to begin working this up. Back to your initial comment about your Gynecologist putting you on bc pills. You statement leads me to believe they were helping. If this is true, why why why would you stop these? If you actually do have endometriosis never ever stop the bc pills that ate keeping this condition under control until you are definitely immediately ready to conceive. Women with this suffer greatly and typically cannot control this without hormonal pills of some kind. So great is the pain and general disturbance of this condition you can see where it can often cause the loss of their job and immediate relationships if it is not managed.
