Mirena IUD Insertion and Removal

7 years ago i had a mirena inserted, i had severe sharp pains and cramping that i asked my doctor to remove it after 1 and a half weeks from the day of insertion. On the day of the IUD removal surgery i asked her if she removed the IUD in the surgery she said yes and i was discharged in 4 hours from the hospital . Now during these 7 years i had been experience pain and all of severe symptoms of the mirena thinking that the mirena was removed. I found out 3 months ago after having a CT scan from bleeding bowel that the mirena perforated my uterus. I also recently found out that they only took 15 minutes to do the surgery, start time of surgery was 9.15am and finished at 9.30 am when i retrieved my medical records and that they only used the camera to look inside me. But on the record it stated that it was a Retained IUD. Meaning that the mirena was inside me and they didnt bother to X-ray me to check if it was anywhere else in the body. Instead i find that on the medical record that i was supposed to have an ultrasound after the surgery and then go back to see her.
