Surgery for endo

Hello,

I have just had a lap and was diagnosed with mild endo, they said i have to have more surgery to have it removed. I am just wondering if this also happen to anyone else or did you have the endo removed at the time of the diagnostic Lap? I feel like i have spent thousands on this surgery and am still not even a step closer to conceiving.

Going to be honest with you, bad choice and good.

Bad choice that she left it all in order for you to have a child because if your case is as bad as she said it is, opening you up has now not only continue it to grow it has also now opened you up to more adhesions that could block your tubes.

If she is saying its the worst case she has ever seen and she said it was too risky to remove it off your organs than thank your lucky stars she didn't touch you. That screams out "NO EXPERIENCE"

Please find yourself an experienced Endo surgeon.

Trust me I had Stage IV endometriosis with Frozen pelvis (everything was fused) My surgeon removed it all (excised 90%) which is what you want not laser.

I am not saying you wont be able to get pregnant but it is something you need to take seriously and I am glad she didn't do anything as she really doesnt sound like she could do the job that you need her to do.

If you are in pain I would find the surgeon, if not try to get pregnant but if you are not getting pregnant at this moment and you are trying IVF you are better off getting the surgery because you might not even need the IVF.

An experience surgeon will save your organs, tubes and ovaries.

I would wait until you go back and see her. It was rude of her to do that but unfortunately most surgeons don't wait around for the anesthetic to wear off.

Make sure you take a copy of the report when you see her. Keep all of your records.

I went in the other day to have a cyst removed on my ovary, but there were complications so my doctor had to cut me open and she found one of the worst cases of endo she had ever seen. From talking to her prior (she's my OBGYN ) she knows my husband and I are trying to get pregnant by ivf, so she left everything go. It would be high risk since its Attatched to a few organs and fused my uterus to my colon. So she wants me to have a chance at pregnancy before she removes it. Since she wasn't expecting to have to cut me open and we hadn't discussed the possibility I respect her decision to not do anything yet. But I only have a small window to try and get pregnant,

My Gyn (ex Gyn), isnt a very friendly lady, I spoke to her before the surgery but only briefly, I asked her if she would come and see me afterwards in which she said "no I want to go home after this'. She was really busy on the day, she had 9 Laps to do but that is no excuse. She is very expereinced in Endo thats her area of expertise. I am really angry and am wondering if i can take it further. Thanks for your reply :)

Wow. That is not right. It should have been removed.

I am assuming the reason it wasn't was because the surgeon wasn't an Endo specialist?

Before the surgery did the surgeon discuss removing Endo if it was there?

I would not be happy with this and the money spent but not sure what you can do. I live in Canada so the health care is different.
