New Here. Diagnosed with Endo a month ago. Pain is so severe

Heres my story. I was having severe pain in my right side for about 6 months (up until August) I finally saw a dr. and got an ultrasound. They said I had Hydrosalpinx (blocked tube) so I underwent lacrosopic surgery Oct 6th and had the tube removed. When I woke up the dr told me she found endometriosis on the outer right side of my uterus and that may be causing the pain too. 4 weeks after surgery I started my first period and the Pain was way worse then before. It was so hard to get through. When I went for my 4 week check up after surgery my dr started me on Birth control pills (sprintec) I took it for 10 days but couldn't handle the mood swings I was going through. (I experienced this in the past so I never took the pill for this reason) I stoped the pill on November 10th. Another period started on the 11th (20 days after the other one started) but the last one was 8 days long so it seemed like it came really early. Today is day 5 of the period and the pain is so intense that I have been curled up in a ball crying. I just cant deal with it anymore.
Here are some questions:
1. Is the pain from Endo really intense or could something else be wrong?
2. Does the Pill really help?  is there one you guys recommened I should ask my dr about?
3. Theres a pill that stops the period for up to 6 months (like menopause) starts with an L...does anyone use this?
4. What helps the pain besides over the counter pain relieves or Vicodin?

Any other advice/help is welcome.
I left a message for my dr today. Hopefully I hear from her tomorrow.

Thanks.

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was 16 and had SEVERE pain and would miss school each month.  When I was 21 I had a laporoscopy done and they took out all the lessions they saw.  I have been doing much better since then, although I believe the 3.5 pregnancies since then helped, as well as all the different BC I tried.  Here is what I tried and the result:

1. Ortho Cyclen pills: helped somewhat. Minimal weight gain...maybe 5 lbs.  Was on this for years.

2. Depo Provera shot: massive weight gain and still had my period but did help with endo.

3. Provera pills: Was prescribed 2- 10mg tablets per day: stopped my period for bigger amounts of time but was SO moody (my husband went back to smoking behind my back lol).  I took myself off of it after a month!!!

4. Mirena IUC: This was my most recent and it made me have super irregular periods, but there were a few times without periods for a few months so that helped.  It really cut down on te super heavy periods too.  I have heard of many having problems with this one but I didn't have too many issues.  I am now trying to get pregnant after removal so we will see I guess.  I also had some weight gain with it.  I didn't realize that is what did it.  I thought I just never really lost the baby weight last time.  But after removal I lost 5 lbs in 7 days.  Now my uncontrollable appetite is at bay too.

I hope this helps!

I take Marvelon21 its a low dose birth control.  It works great for me.  I think every person is different on different pills.  I would try that for about 6 months continuous and see what difference it makes for you.

I think that if I didnt have my surgery the pill would have made no difference as I had a rectovaginal nodule that had to be removed.  That made a world of difference.

Thanks for the response. This pain is worse the child birth. I know its only once a month but its so horrible. I watch kids during the day and its so hard to function with the pain. I take 4 ibprofen and it helps within an hour. But I want something stronger.
They left the endo during surgery. My mom and fiance asked the dr why she didnt do anything and she said it wasn't severe and could be controlled by birth control.
Can I ask what birth control pill you are taking?  I  saw that a lot of people on here are taking Lo-estrin. I'll ask my dr about that one. I'll stay away from Lupron. I read the bad stuff about it. I get every side effect listed on medication so it would probably really mess me up.

Thanks again.

1) Yes the pain from endo can really be intense.  Was the endo removed or did they just leave it there?

2) I have been on the pill continuously for 4yrs since my surgery and have had great relief (marvelon21)

3) Lupron is what you are talking about and I would NOT recommend this medication because of the adverse side effects. I was on it for 6 month and after the first injection i became depressed, after the second injection I was having severe joint pain along with Fibromyalgia symptoms that I havent had in 10 yrs.

4) I dont get pain anymore but I was at the point where I was taking Anaprox and advil.  Both took forever to work and I still felt as though I was in so much pain.

Surgery helped me as I had stage IV deep rectovaginal endo Before my surgery i dreaded having a period because of the intense pain. i couldnt eat or sleep and would vomit because of the pain.
