I had really bad Endo. I had in all reproductive organs up into my right lung. My Ob/ GYN
did put me on Lupron for about a couple of years or so to help control the periods and the growth of the Endo.  I was 45 years old and after the 2 years of Lupron I had no choice, it stopped working for me, I had to have a Hysterectomy. However, while I was on it for the first 16 mos. it helped me more than some of the other meds. I had been taking prior. (birth control pills etc...)
My lung collapsed almost monthly and chest tubes are NO picnic they HURT !!!
So try the Lupron. I think if I had not had the Endo. in my lung it would have worked better, I guess the Endo. was winning at that point. I had hardly any side effects.
Best of luck to you... Hope this helps somehow/someway..

Hi!

Yes it is normal for them to do that.  I am 22 and am not where near menopause or hysterectomy, but my gyno put me on Lurpron for 6 months after long suffering from pain from my endometriosis.  It will put you into a false menopause, but once you discontinue the injections the menopause symptoms will disappear after awhile.

I will warn you, the shots were miserable for me because of the side effects such as nausea, headaches, fatigue, depression, loss of appetite, etc.  You should way the benefits to the side effects with this drug.

Hope this helped,
Meg

I was on Lupron shot after I had a pelviscopy for endometriosis. They may want to try to control the growth of the endo before they do the hysterectomy.
