I have heard great things about the fertility clinic in Denver Colorado, but at age 44, my timer has run out.  I went to the best fertility specialist here in Hawaii, and he tested the one ovary I have left, the right one was removed due to a grapefruit-sized endometrial cyst immobilizing it, and after monthly ultrasounds and bloodwork, the specialist says I have no eggs left.  Women over 40 with endometriosis, especially stage 3-4 have less than 1% chance of conception, but with only one ovary to work with, that percent goes down (if this is possible!)  I left the clinic with my husband, crying and depressed.  If this is what I have left in this life to look forward to, spending my time with him, then I am going to make the best of it and try to go on long cruises with the money we were going to use for in vitro, and try to be happy without children to raise.  I don't know what else to say except that if you have a great husband and are close to 40, see a specialist right away, even if that means going to Colorado and seeing that one.  They seem to have a lot of positives for women with eggs left.

When I was on Lupron I didn't have periods and they told me that no other method of BC was necessary b/c you don't ovulate.  I too, am waiting for my period to return after Lupron.  Although this last time I called my doctor they asked if I had a negative pregnancy test, so I took one and in fact was negative.  She said it would be highly unlikely that I was pregnant. Although I could have ovulated before I got my period.... so I'm not really sure.  It's all so confusing.  Now I'm hoping that this OPK predictor I bought will work and that I am ovulating!!!  That is basically what you need to know if you aren't getting a period.

I dont really know about getting prego in your 40s but with the shot you can still get prego if you dont have your period... the shot was just making it so you didnt have a period but not preventing you to ovulate... does that make any sense?? lol good luck I hope you all can get prego soon!!! :D
