pain relief??

I get such severe menstrual cramps every month and it's unbearable.. I started this morning and have already taken my prescription pain medication, but it's not working. I'm wearing a heating pad which slightly helps. I do all the "home remedies", though I'm still in pain! What else can I do for pain management?? I have an appointment with my gyno in a week and a half, but today and tomorrow I have the extreme pain and want to do something to stop it now. Any ideas?

I don't like acupuncture. I'm not really into Eastern medicine. I'd rather go for something that can help to fix the problem. I'm waiting for the doctor's app., I really can't take the pain anymore.. it's driving me crazy...

You could always try acupuncture. I have never tried it myself, but I have read good things about it.

You could try fish oil and see if it helps.  I can't promise you it will help, but it's worth a try.
