pain!

What are the best ways to deal with the pain associated with endo?? I can't seem to get the pain under control and have been suffering a lot. it's not affecting my gpa in college and my relationships, putting stress on my bf. I need to do something about this and just using pain medication is not helping. Heating pads offer little relief.

When I first started dealing with the endo pain, I would take 3-4 ibuprofen and it did nothing for me. I finally started going to an acupuncturist, and it changed my life. It took a cycle or two to really work but once it did it helped not only with the menstrual and endo pain but also the diarrhea and irregularity. I totally recommend acupuncture if you can afford it. Luckily, I live in Richmond, VA and there is a great acupuncturist with a sliding scale so that I only pay $25 a session. If you are interested in acupuncture, I can tell you more about the process, how many sessions, etc. My acupuncturist doesn't do the traditional chinese medicine of taking different pulses. He uses needles and electrodes. Best of luck with dealing with the pain. It takes so much energy out of you!

All I do for the pain is 3 Advil every 6 hours.  It seems though, that one month it's not so bad and the next it's severe and back again.  The Therma Care heat wraps do help on the severe months.  I've given up trying to get rid of the endo after all these years, it always comes back again.

I meant to say *now* putting stress...

thanks! I need to find one, but my health insurance just switched and it's been hard finding doctors 'in network' that I like and trust. I just know I can't keep living like this with the pain. It's taking days out of my life.

I am 24 had a laproscopy done... I personally had really bad cramping. mine has not gotten better since the surgery but, i believe my doctor didnt get all of the cells. Look for a doctor that specialises in endometriosis..
