Need help
I'm nearly 30 and recuring shingles has taken over my life now since 2007 it seemed to start after being very unwell(it was thought I had glangular feaver at one point but was never clear what was wrong) it was at a stressful time being a single working mom and in my 3rd year at college, I was also told I had underactive thyroid for witch I take medication but even while my bloods are "normal" I still have symtons and get shingles about 5 times a year, after many appiontments and prescriptions for aviculor for shingles and complaining about my symptons, and blood tests for everything in the book later, the doctor said last week it sounds like cfs but wanted 2 check my thyroid levels yet AGAIN 1st and rushed me out the door. How can I be taken seriously what should I do next? Also some people seem to think I am just silly and need rest but even after plenty sleep and rest I still feel like I'm coming down with something 90 % of the time and feel shatered most of the time and depressed.
btw... the comment that CFS patients often have shingles. Not true from what I know (and I communicate with many CFS patients). However, there are some fibro patients who often have outbreaks of shingles.
Anyway, I'm just happy that a blood test is on the way ! I know that RedLabs USA (you can google for more info) already has a test on spinal fluid that can apparently make a CFS diagnosis. However, I believe the test is still in the research phase (and it requires spinal fluid... ; ^ ( )
