In need for answers regarding EBV and CMV

My test came in and the following results are as follow:

EBV: Detected
CMV: Positive

Do I need to do any other follow-up test that's related to this? Example lupus, mono, etc? Is EBV just a virus alone or is it closely related to mono? I'm very confused. I need someone (anyone!) to tell me the inside out of this issue. I was sick earlier this year though with a bad fever, sore throat that needed to be treated with steroids, and a mild headache. I still experience fatigue from time to time but it isn't that significant. My eyes get easily red when I'm tired though and I muscle twitches.

Are these viruses dangerous? Am I going to die? Help :(

My gosh I wish I could help you !! I've been very ill for over a year with no relief from this thing. It started out with just feeling flu like, and very wiped out after that, then I was ok for a year or so, then got hit again with just feeling bad. I had been dealing with it for so long, have had all kinds of blood work over the last year, everything just kept coming back ok, until I went back into my Drs office, after just basicly staying in the house, not able to really do anything except try and clean here and there when I could, mostly have just been sitting or laying in bed hoping what ever I had would eventually pass because they couldn't find anything wrong in my blood work. I couldn't stand it any longer so when I went back to my PCP she was shocked at my appearance ! She went over all my blood work again and said well the only thing we have not done is an EBV test, so she did that plus several other tests, and the EBV came back positive high numbers, then she sent me to an immunologist and she ran more tests, EBV positive still, and she said yes I have EBV. I don't know anything about this stuff ! I was stunned, about all I could say was ( your telling me I have been this ill for over a year because of this ? She said yes. I asked how long am I going to be sick ? She said she didn't know because she has seen people ill for 2 to 4 years and longer. Plus I had Glandular fever when I was 2 which almost killed me, and Glandular fever is caused by the EBV virus, so I'd had it before, so she said its become reactive again. That's about all I was told. I'm terrified this thing will kill me as sick as I am. I can't sit up long enough to use my lap top to research more information, and I am 53 years old with no education to speak of so some things I find to read are very hard for me to really understand. I am looking for answers too. All I have been told is there is no treatment and cure. People say take allot of Vitimam C, to boost the immune system. It hasn't helped me so far. If you find out more please please inform me as well.. I am totally confused myself and very afraid !! I'm so sorry I can't be of more help. I wish you the best of luck !! And hope you get well !!
