Rabies

I was exposed to what appeared to be a rabid street dog(The usually friendly dog behaved more aggressively than normal at the time of the attack and died within 10 days thereafter) about 2-3 years ago.Post-exposure prophylaxis was not taken at that time.Considering the fact that the incubation period of the rabies virus can be very long, can i get rabies in the future?

There have been cases of rabies where the incubation period was beyond 1 year.

The incubation period for rabies is 1-3 months or in rare cases UP TO a year. You should be fine.

Here is a link to World Health Organization. This should put your fears to rest. http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs099/en/
