EGD performed, found nodules in mid-esophagus

Just had an upper endoscopy done, and the prelim report from the GI doctor said: found 2 mm nodule in mid-esophagus. Is this a prelude to esophageal cancer? I've had hoarseness and throat raspyness for 4 weeks now.  Please advise.

Cysts are common throughout the body so no need to panic needlessly. Odds are it's nothing. :)
