Athleticguy214, In my experience both my husband and I have been athletes and we get itching sensations or you could call it tickling or crawling sensations when you start to exercise and get the blood moving a lot. It will usually go away after you continue to exercise. I am not sure what it is. But I think it is the nerves getting activated or the cells on the surface of the skin. Possible the blood flow is sending signals to the brain and activating a cellular response such as your immune system gets working. This is a good thing. So I wouldn't worry about it. It is a little uncomfortable but usually with more exercise it goes away with time. Or it can come and go. Here is a site that talks about itching after or during exercise. https://www.verywellfit.com/itching-during-exercise-3120788

It could be the histamine release like you get with an allergy. Histamine is a chemical the body releases for a variety of reasons. Usually it is allergy but not always.

Never heard of that before. Maybe from putting pressure on the vagus nerve?

No docs here, just folks like you.  Exactly what do you mean by bugs crawling sensation?  Is this the only time it happens?

That's an interesting reaction.  Sounds like little nerve flutters or something.  It's ONLY when you do sit ups in the morning?

Could be nerves.  Why don't you switch it up and try doing your sit ups in the evening and see if you still get the sensation.  Let me know!
